Of cameras & Om's new learnign curve

Thank you all for encouraging us to keep updating this fledgling blog filled with photographs taken by our photographer kid, Om. :)

Om the Photographer - fixing his toy camera to my mini tripod. ;)

This blog has already seen its first 20 posts and more are certainly on its way. But may be a bit slower.

Because of the loss of my mobile SE K750i, which was Om's tool of choice, I had to buy a new C702 phone (little bro of Bond's C902). Without his old trusty K750i, Om is facing a learning curve all over again. I let Om try out my Sony point & shoot camera DSC W60, but it was too big for his hands. Poor fellow could not properly press the shutter button. It just didn't come in his grasp. :(

And now am allowing him to take his own time with the camera in my C702. It took me some time to get to know all the features in it! Its a full fledged camera to the core, not at all like the sorry contraption thats fit onto more expensive phones from the Nokia stable.

The below one is taken by my wife's cousin with my C702. Some more pics taken with the C702 are available on my personal blog too.

Jedi Om ;)

Am trying to filter out presentable ones from the old repository in parallel to Om's new experimental shots. I will keep posting them whenever I find something of worth and of course, when am free enough too. :(

Until then, keep checking & pls do spread the word. :)

These are my feet ...

... and these are its protectors :D

Note by Nana: Footwear are called padaraksha or padarakshaka in Sanskrit, litterally meaning protectors of the feet and thus the title of this post is so named.

My laptops

I have so many laptop to play on. I had one blue laptop which does not work anymore. New cell also doesn't make it play the music. If I press "i" in it, it plays "Happy Birthday to You" song. That laptop was given to me by nana's cousin, Deepa aththa.

Shaliamma got me a new laptop, a yellow flower laptop. It plays animal sounds when I press the different alphabets. It has new music too. :)

My flower laptop's top portion.
I have another laptop, well its Shaliamma's actually. :) I play TuxPaint on it. Nana tells me it is called eeepc. He has put a photo of mine with it in his blog too.
Shaliamma's eeepc playing my "worm" video.

And of course, I play a lot on nana's laptop too. I like GCompris very much. He has given it to a school in Ramanagaram too. I also showed them how to play. :)

My first caterpillar

The caterpillar nana brought for me

Yesterday nana gave me two new stuff! One was to use his camera to take pictures, not his mobile. Next was to bring me pintoo (the caterpillar in the HSBC ad).

Nana did some settings on the big camera and gave it to me to shoot the caterpillar. It was not coming properly. He again did some changes and gave me. It came a bit better but blurred. He then asked me to take the camera closer to pintoo, I was afraid. So nana held my hands and took it closer to pintoo. Then I clicked and got the above photo. :D

Cereal biscuits in the tray

Paalubikut, that's what I call the wheat cereals biscuits that I have with milk & a bit of sugar for my breakfast every day. :) It is my favourite breakfast and have it every single day. It is tasty & healthy. It helps me with my digestion & bowel movement too. I love to eat only the powder of the biscuits too. :)

I took these pictures today morning when nana was warming the milk for my breakfast. :)

One of my many cars

My Indica car on top of nana's computer table

I love cars a lot!!!! I could tell the names of all the small cars in India by the time I was 2.5 years. I have lotssss of them in my "butti" (basket). Nana got me this above one when I asked him to get me an Indica. I know its not Indica, but thats pretty close, so its ok. :)

My "butti"

Below are pictures I took inside an actual Indica - nana's car, black Indica - while we were waiting for Shaliamma in front of Jayanagar 7th Block Foodworld. :)

My favorite cartoon show

One of the characters in the British cartoon show "Noddy"

I love to watch Noddy a lot! Nana has got me a Noddy car because I love cars too. :D Noddy also has an aeroplane and theres a blue train in it too that goes koo koo koo! There is also a house which has got a train placed above it! Theres a teddy bear with a hat that's got a flower in it and next to it is a doggie. :)

I was watching Noddy on Shaliamma's (that's how I call my mom) laptop when I took this photo. Over DVD player was out for repair and nana would not let me watch Noddy on his laptop as he was working on it.

My pink train!

My pink chinese make train that goes chuk chuk chuk chuk ...

I love trains!!! I love the travel. I always look forward very eagerly to the journey to Chennai & back to Bangalore on the Shatabdi. Do you know that if we go in the reverse, we reach Chennai & if we go forward we reach Bangalore?

Hello! Say Cheese!

Yes, that's me, Om Shreshti, clicking my own pic in my mom's dressing mirror. :D

Hello all. I am Om Shreshti & this is my photoblog setup for showcasing the pictures that I have clicked.

I love to click pictures and am encouraged to do so. I come up with crazy ideas for the shots & sometimes I take them stealthily too. ;)

The idea of the above shot was all mine! My nana (that's how I call my dad) GIMPed it a bit to make it more presentable. :) Basically some cropping, brightness-contrast adjustment and then a couple of filters (clothify & border).

Above picture was taken, as can be seen, in a Sony Ericsson K750i that nana uses. It was taken on 8th August 2008.

Nana will keep posting my pictures & writing the text and responding to you all till I learn how to do so by myself. So keep checking & please drop in your comments to keep this photoblog going. :)

That's me & nana, clicked with help of nana, when we were going by Shatabdi train to Chennai on May 17th 2008.

Om's window to the world

Om, standing by the window in our bedroom and watching the world outside.

Om has been taking pictures since a long time, but they used to be, you know, shaky, dark, blurred, out of focus, etc. Of late however, in the past ~6 months, he seems to have grasped the basic concept that what ever is visible on the screen gets captured.

He takes a picture & then immediately has to see if it was what he wanted to capture. I get a feeling that this is how he wants to cross check the way he sees his world & freeze it.

He also likes a lot to pose for the camera. In this blog, I will also put up a few pictures that he has posed in. Like the above one. Yes, it was a pose, not a candid shot! :)

I have been asked to blog his pics before, but never got around to do it.

Inspired by a news article about a 8 year old blogger Shreya, who is the daughter of a couple working in Cognizant, I got the final impetus to create this photo blog.

I will be posting on behalf of Om, but the pictures will all be the ones clicked by him, unless otherwise stated.

Om the lazy worm!
